Activism is so refreshing; it really is. And it makes me extremely happy to be surrounded by activists everywhere. If you're sitting there thinking.."I'm not an activist, why should I even continue reading this?" I think you're wrong. Because more likely than not, you are an activist. You're an activist if you read, listen, or watch the news. You're an activist if you care about others. You're an activist if you do little things, like recycle, carpool, and smile in people's faces. You're an activist because everything you do is actively changing the world.
Since it turns out that we're all activists- let's be positive activists. Let's change the world for the better. Speaking of positive activism, I came across one of MAS' newest projects called, "Muslim Green Team," where they distribute around 10,000 reusable bags to cut down the use of disposable bags while shopping, as well as hold an annual Eco-Fair, where community members can get the information and resources they need to adopt more environmentally responsible practices. Now that is some refreshing activism.
It's truly wonderful to see that Muslims are getting involved in the environment and a slew of other important issues and matters, from the government to Habitat for Humanity to homeless shelters and so much more. By volunteering and taking up the role as positive activists we benefit both ourselves and everyone around us.
So let's get on the ball and change the world little by little.
