Events taking place in Gaza, Palestine, are deplorable. The
imposition of a medieval-like barbaric embargo is causing untold
suffering to the people living in the city. That all this destruction,
displacement and pain is taking place is sad. But the fact that we are
passive witnesses to all the injustice and cruelty being inflicted upon
innocent children, women and innocent men is frightening – for it
reflects the loss of our humanity and betrays both a wrapped sense of
justice and double standards.
