On
this day, I am thankful to God for all the blessings of my life, all
the mercy He has shown me, and for my country. I am so blessed and
thankful to be a citizen of this wonderful nation.

is deputy director of Illume, and a Pulmonary and Critical Care physician currently
practicing in the greater Chicago area.
Today, Americans all across the country are getting together with
family and friends and celebrating the feast of Thanksgiving, eating
turkey and other foods and desserts, as is the custom in the United
States.
Although we should and must be thankful to God every
single moment of our lives, it is still important to thank God for all
the blessings He has given us throughout our lives. Our country is
hurting very much now: hundreds of thousands have lost their jobs, lost
their healthcare, lost their homes, and have tremendous uncertainty
about their financial future.
I send my prayers of strength and protection to them. I ask the Lord to send down his Grace and Mercy upon them.
On
this day, I am thankful to God for all the blessings of my life, all
the mercy He has shown me, and for my country. I am so blessed and
thankful to be a citizen of this wonderful nation.
On this day,
also, my thoughts and concern go out to the victims of the horrific
terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The sights and sounds coming out of Mumbai
have been absolutely wrenching, and I ask and pray that the gunmen are
caught, the hostages released, and peace return to Mumbai.
