Though the concept of a political party was founded many generations ago, the lengthy and extensive history of American government and politics illustrate several hardships and obstacles that many people had to witness and fight through in order for us as a society to be in the privileged position we are now. Each political party represents a different and unique point of view, and many Americans may find themselves in between a political party sometimes. The Republican Party or G.O.P. (Grand Old Party) as it is sometimes referred to, is known to be more conservative and traditional when it comes to dealing with political and social issues. The Democratic political party, on the other hand, tends to be more liberal and open minded in regards to issues that affect our communities. Both political parties are fairly evenly supported by different Americans all throughout the nation. There are a few more political parties that are somewhat obscure and lesser known by the general public and a political party can be formed by anyone with enough capital and support. Many of the issues that these political organizations possess firm political views about are topics that are somewhat controversial and divide our nation into opposing opinions. In many of these cases however, there really is no true ‘right’ answer, and each opposing political views have their advantages as well as disadvantages, strong points and weak points, pros and cons. The diversity of the American society is exceptional and one that cannot be replicated in any other country. Perhaps it is this exact diversity that makes our nation so great a nation that holds such differing political views. Though we as a society may never be able to come to one conclusive and final agreement on a given controversial issue, political organizations are formed with beneficial intentions in mind to spread the respective word and promote a certain cause rather than to put down differing political organizations and create an overly competitive and hostile environment.

Due to the competitive, spirited, and diverse nature of the American society, it is not surprising to see one nation with two major political organizations with relatively opposite political views. The two most recognized political organizations of course, are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party. Though there are a few more political organizations that exist, they are lesser known and often overshadowed by the two major groups. Those who consider themselves a part of the Democratic Party tend to be more liberal and open-minded than those individuals who side with the Republican Party, known to be more conservative and conventional. The two major political organizations that offer opposing political views are somewhat of a prime example of one of the principle foundations that our great nation was built upon: the freedom of choice. It is not even actually required for an individual to choose which of the political organizations that he or she wants to be a part of, although the liberty and right to freely vote is strongly encouraged to all Americans. There is a vast and comprehensive history behind the government and politics of the United States of America, one that leads us to where we stand today. The right to vote is one of the many liberties that our great nation offers that may not be the case in many countries throughout the world. But again, the choice is completely up to the individual, and everybody is entitled to whichever political views they may choose.

Many times, it may seem like the society that we live in today is one that is fast paced, competitive, and independent. In such a world that is constantly changing, progressing, and advancing, history is being written every day, and with each day that passes, one big name is forgotten and another is created. The human mind is an exceedingly intelligent and proficient organism that is capable of virtually any and everything. What was ‘known’ to be impossible a few decades ago is now an every day, normal commodity or practice in our day and age. What we think is ‘impossible’ today may be the next groundbreaking development that changes society tomorrow. The possibilities of the advancements of the human race are virtually endless. Though the world we live in today is so fast paced and rapidly advancing, the individuals who have helped us get to where we are now will always live on forever, survived by their achievements and contributions to the human race. Not surprisingly, many of the individuals’ names that will be forever etched into the history books are actually related to political issues, as the people who usually make the biggest impact on a nation are involved in the political, as well as social, aspects of any given community.

The political leaders that have made the biggest impact on our great land of the United States of America are more often than not those individuals who have once presided as president of the nation. Just a few of the most prominent political leaders that have once lived in the White House are George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Thomas Jefferson, and Ronald Reagan. This list of well-known political leaders who have had a great impact on American society as well as politics goes on much longer however, seeing as how the history of the United States of America is one that is quite lengthy and comprehensive. Without the great political leaders that have shaped our country into what it has become today, our society could be a very different place in this day and age. All political leaders are distinctly remembered for the specific contributions made to political and social communities, and these contributions often reverberate for generations to come and the effects are still felt, decades later.

Aside from the great political leaders of the United States of America, there are several famous names that are recognized globally for their impression on political issues of their respective nation. A few of these names however, can be associated with a negative connotation, for their political views may be considered somewhat antagonistic and ostracized by the general public. Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, and Mother Teresa are just a few of the famous political leaders whose names may ring a bell in the general public’s mind. These individuals have made political and social contributions to their respective communities that have been felt throughout a number of societies through the world. A few of the names with a negative connotation are Saddam Hussein, Fidel Castro, and Adolf Hitler, and yet no matter how immoral and unethical their actions may have been, they were at one point successful in making a political impact that may have effected more than just their respective country.
