But in whatever forms, abuse is an act of doing something with a bad purpose. Abuse is a common word which is heard everyday. Media is vying each other to report news on several types of abuse taking place in our society. It could be on sexual abuse, cheating, and political abuse and lot many. If we sincerely spend some time to list out the abuses around us, it will surely take hours and even days to complete it. Although we might feel that it is an uphill task to do it, being responsible citizens it is our onus to analyze it with a serious note and try to unfold the severity of it in front of our fellow beings at least.
Let us take a look at the major abuses which are happening around:
abuse of authority:
Let us first start from the authorities who are supposed to lead us from the helm of affairs. This abuse is something, being practiced by our politicians and other legislative authorities for their personal gains. Abuse of government powers to oppress their political rivals, abusing government funds for their political and personal gains are some of the examples of abuse of authority.
Abuse of Discretion:-This is nothing but showing a failure in the case of considering the real fact or the Law in a particular case. This is also termed as an abuse of authority.
Abuse of information: – Abuse of information is leaking out some valuable information confidential in nature to a third person by an unauthorized official. For e.g.: in financial world, advising a client by giving some tips to invest on some particular stocks is considered to be an abuse of information. Because it gives an undue advantage to the investor.
abuse of Power: – Abuse of power is misusing the official position for some private gains. Receiving bribes or commission for some misconduct in the capacity of an official is an abuse of power.
Animal Abuse:-Animal abuse is an act of inflicting some harm to any animal other than human beings. This act would not be considered so, if it is done for self-defense. Killing animals for their skin, tusks or fur is a common scene in the present day context. This is illegal and punishable too.
Child abuse: – Child abuse is n act of ill-treatment towards children by way of inflicting mental or physical torturing. Most of the mistreatments against the children are taking place at home itself. Lack of proper care would cause a great mental agony to them and it could result in some major mental disorder in them. Sexual abuse on children is another problem which is commonly seen nowadays. Children, who are kidnapped or transported to another place by child traffickers, abuse these children mercilessly for sex work. In the US, many NGO organizations have now come forward with some notable initiatives and projects to safe guard children from being abused for all these illegal activities.
child sexual abuse Women and children are found to be fallen prey to this abuse. Sexual abuse is found more among the victims of human trafficking. Sexual abuse by gays is also found very common in the US. These agents of human trafficking and drug mafias are the main sex offenders who commit sex crimes often. It is said that there are some registered sex offenders in some countries, who are monitored very closely by the authorities. As we all know the impact of sexual abuse is worse because it affects the victims’ mental as well as physical conditions very badly.
